For those of us stuck in the grip of a seemingly endless northern winter, few things boost our spirits more than spotting our first robin.
Seeing my first robin of the year on February 13, I allowed myself to think that certainly spring was on its way.
When starting to work on this article, I saw another sure sign of spring.

How is the social media component of your marketing plan coming along?
I’m about two weeks into my own social media marketing plan and so far so good.
Until its marketing potential started to make sense to me, I was not a big social media fan. On the contrary: the word skeptic would probably best describe my attitude.

Whenever people find out that I am a real estate marketing coach, invariably they ask for my opinion about the real estate market.
Rather than explain the difference between real estate marketing and the real estate market, I usually respond with something like “it depends upon which market you are thinking about”.
There are three reasons for my reluctance to discuss the real estate market.

In today’s uncertain real estate market, what are buyers looking for?
Is it affordability, pride of ownership, desire for more space or potential financial growth?
The short answer is yes. And if you add relocation to the mix, the long and complete answer is all of these factors.

Over the course of my career, I have always provided professional services in one form or another. On the one hand it has been a source of pleasure to apply my skills and knowledge to help others resolve problems or realize new levels of achievement. On the other hand, I have always felt somewhat uncomfortable selling my services.
Sure, I’m comfortable even proud of how I help clients. But despite my best intentions and effort, not every one who will benefit from my help knows what I can do. So like every one else who provides any kind of service, I have to market myself and yes…sell my services.
